The final conference (multiplier event) of the ENACTING project was successfully held in Larissa/Greece on Thursday 18 May 2023, at the beautiful industrial monument of the Mill of Pappas (in collaboration with the Mayoralty of Culture and Sciences of the Municipality of Larissa).
This event was joined by representatives from all the ENACTING consortium partners who were able to present in detail all the results of the project to a large audience (more than 50 people) consisting of teachers and educators, social scientists and filmmakers, representatives of local government, young and adult artists, representatives of organisations supporting vulnerable social groups, from almost the entire region of Thessaly.
The representatives of the consortium presented the Methodology of Identification of Local Challenges in Urban Settings (IO1), the Social Documentary Training Course (IO2) and the MOOC asynchronous education platform (IO3) as well as the Participatory Media Lab (IO4) which includes the European Social Documentary Festival and the creators’ interaction Forum.
During the event we had the opportunity to watch 2 social documentaries created through the ENACTING training in Greece and talk to their creators.
The open discussion that followed with the audience and the creators highlighted the value of the social documentary as an agent of social change at local level, while ideas for adapting the educational material in order to address different target groups (e.g. primary and secondary school students) were also discussed.
After this event, it is now a common belief that the ENACTING project with the end of its official duration (June 2021-May 2023) marks a new beginning for its results to be exploited on a wide scale.
